One of the biggest international annual conferences came to Malaysia thanks to Cheng & Co becoming a member of TGS Global, one of the world’s largest dynamic accountancy network. Ranked as a top 20 international network by both the International Accounting Bulletin (IAB) and Accountancy Age, with a combined fee income that stands at more than US$ 230 million worldwide, TGS Global currently operates with 48 members from 44 countries and is rapidly expanding the global footprint of its network.
With guests from countries such as France, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, Canada, India and China, the day began at the Grand Hyatt, Kuala Lumpur with the official opening of the TGS Global Annual Conference 2016 led by TGS Co-Chairman Marc Desjardins followed by the welcome address from Cheng & Co’s Managing Partner Professor Dato’ Dr Chua Hock Hoo. Subsequently there were insightful presentations, workshops and roundtable discussions on topics such as Doing Business in ASEAN (Tax Focus), Strategy and Governance and How To Be More Entrepreneurial.
Day two kicked-off with the Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia’s Performance Management and Delivery Unit (PEMANDU), Dato’ Sri Idris Jala delivering his keynote address followed by another keynote address from Dr Nurmazilah Dato’ Mahzan, the Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. Impactful presentations, workshops and discussions ensued on interesting subjects such as Brexit, Our Industry In A Global Perspective, How To Get More members and Market Recognition, and Transformation.
