Kuala Lumpur, 19 October 2023 – Cheng & Co Group of Companies celebrated their 25th Anniversary in a gala dinner, held in the One World Hotel in Bandar Utama.
In attendance were all members and associates of Cheng & Co Group, recipients of International Business Excellence (IBE) Award 2023, representatives of COPE Private Equity, and a few loyal clients of Cheng & Co Group.
The evening began with opening remarks from YBhg Dato’ Dr Chua Hock Hoo (Executive Chairman, Cheng & Co Group), Mr Tom Wong (CEO of Cheng & Co Group, Chairman of the Organising Committee for Cheng & Co Group’s 25th Anniversary Gala Dinner, Chairman of the Organising Committee for IBE Award 2023), and Professor Dr Robert Pelley (Special Guest of Honour), and a spectacular firework display to mark the opening of the gala dinner.

Following a delicious meal, we proceeded with the IBE Award 2023 ceremony. The IBE Award is celebrates and recognises the achievement of business excellence by SME companies in Malaysia and neighbouring countries.
For IBE Award 2023, we have had 14 winners, and they were the following companies:

ESG adoption is the future of any business that wishes to achieve sustainable business growth, including ours. Therefore, in addition to the dinner and award giving ceremonies, we also took the opportunity to help lead the way towards effective ESG adoption by unveiling and launching the ESG Service Corporation Association.
In addition, we also launched a book titled “See You At the Top: Digital Transformation Enables Companies to Meet ESG Standards”, which was co-authored by YBhg Dato’ Dr Chua Hock Hoo, Mr Cheng Chia-Lin (Vice-President of Southeast Asia Business Unit, Digiwin Taiwan) and Dr Ma Yue (CEO, Digiwin Malaysia), following the launch of the ESG Service Corporation Association.
In between prize-giving ceremonies, the gala dinner also included two dance performances.
In addition to IBE Awards 2023 winners, we also held a loyal client appreciation award ceremony.
Lastly, we ended the gala dinner with a prize-giving lucky draw, a closing remark from Mr. Lam Kwai Soon, and a toast to the success of Cheng & Co Group.
All-in-all, it was the best evening ever for Cheng & Co Group and all who were present. We toast to everyone’s success as we carry on to the future towards an ESG-focused sustainable growth.
