Cheng & Co’s Managing Partner, Professor Dato’ Dr Chua Hock Hoo, will be one of the panel of speakers at the upcoming Changing SMPs Business Model seminar. The seminar, to be held at the Connexion Conference and Events in Nexus, Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur on 18 July 2016, will focus on opportunities for SMPs (small and medium-sized practices) to diversify their service offerings, mainly by deploying technology to automate the compliance side of their business while expanding support and value added services.
The objective of the seminar is to highlight the critical need for SMPs to recognise factors that affect the provision of appropriate consultancy and services to their clients, and also assist SMPs in areas such as:
- Identifying specific needs and overcoming today’s challenges
- Re-engineering their practices to current business trends
- Growing their practices through the review, compilation and agreed-upon procedures engagements
- Learning the changes in the SMP landscape and future business plans.
Professor Dato’ Dr. Chua will be speaking at the second panel session that discusses and deliberates the topic Expanding Services Offerings: Non-Audit Assurance, Review, Agreed-Upon Procedures Services and Business Advice.
The seminar is jointly organised by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants, with partners, sole-proprietors, managers, senior auditors, public practitioners, local and regional professional accountancy organisations among those expected to attend.
