We’re so happy to announce yet another success of Cheng & Co Foundation in helping those in need. In November 2022, we held Hungry Harimau Golf Invitation to help raise funds for a playground that the children of Kampung Tiong Monggis in Sabah. Behold the results of Cheng & Co Foundation’s endeavour.
On last Saturday, 18 March 2023, Cheng & Co Foundation co-founder, Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Dr Chua Hock Hoo, Ms Catherine Tan, and a group of volunteers travelled to Kampung Tiong Monggis in order to officiate the handover of the playground for Tadika Ceria Kadazandusun. Also in attendance were Bulawan Sigah Datuk Joseph Paulus Lantip, Encik Ian Quek Jui Meng, Dr Benedict Topin, and Ms Chrisnelia Asing.
Tadika Ceria Kadazandusun is unique because it not only offers standard education in English and Bahasa Melayu, but also the basics in Dusun language. Practical knowledge such as English and maths are important in life. However, just as crucial is the preservation of our children’s cultural identity. We hope that the playground will contribute to the children of Kg Tiong Monggis getting, in addition to their well-rounded education, a great childhood and growing-up experience.
