The implementation of the National People’s Well-Being and Economic Recovery Package (PEMULIH) announced by our Prime Minister, YAB Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on 28 June, is a new initiative to add relief to Malaysians as Malaysia continues to remain in lockdown under Phase 1 of the National Recovery Plan to curb the spread of Covid-19.
The total value of the PEMULIH package is RM150 billion and includes the government’s direct fiscal injection of RM10 billion. Through this initiative, it has three main focuses
- Continuing the People’s Concern Agenda (Agenda Prihatin Rakyat),
- Supporting businesses, and
- Improving vaccination rates
