From the year 2020 until now, the COVID-19 pandemic that has disrupted our lives has yet to completely cease. This especially applies to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of keeping a safe distance of at least 1 meter away from others.
In the early stage of the pandemic, the Malaysian Government issued a Movement Control Order (MCO) to curb the pandemic and this causes the economic situation in Malaysia to plummet and it affects every single citizen in Malaysia, not only from the urban area but also in the rural areas. People are losing their jobs and they are struggling to even put food on their table that they start to care less about their health and safety. During this time, obtaining a mask to adhere to the SOP, which obviously causes money, becomes less important than obtaining food to feed their families especially when they are losing money faster than they are making them due to the loss of income. Life is not easy for them and the SOP is not so kind to them either.
Therefore, on the 30th of January 2021, Cheng & Co, Brandnetic Sdn Bhd, and YiNian Enterprise decided to pay a visit to the village for their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). With plans of providing a better lifestyle, economic aids, and rising health awareness in mind for the villagers, they head towards the north of Malaysia, to Kampung Buluh Nipis, Kedah. They prepared daily necessities, masks, money donations, and an appreciation luncheon for all the villagers. There, they gave an explanation on proper healthcare, they also did a collaboration with Naturion to provide job opportunities and the necessary knowledge needed for collecting essential oil to the villagers.
During their brief one-day stay there, they provided help and had some friendly interaction with the villagers while maintaining a safe distance from each other and adhering to the proper SOPs.
