Economic Sector Allowed to Operate During RMCO

On 7th June 2020, our Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has announced the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) from 10th June – 31st August 2020. Under this phase of RMCO, all economic sectors can start to operate except for some prohibited activities.

The key highlights as follow:

  • Interstate travel is allowed effective 10 June 2020, except to and fro Enhance Movement Control Order (EMCO). Malaysian are to remind in practicing the new normal – social distancing, wash hand frequently, always bring a hand sanitizer, & wear a mask.
  • Almost all social, education, religious, business activities and the economic sector will start to operate completely by following the SOP set by Government.
  • Businesses can operate according to the usual business hours.
  • Despite this, certain activities such as rallies, open house & any other activity that involves the presence of a crowd of people in one place are not allowed.

  • Saloon operator
  • Open markets
  • Morning markets
  • Bazaar
  • Food court
  • Hawker centre
  • Food truck
  • Food stall
 

  • Pub
  • Night clubs
  • Entertainment center
  • Reflexology center
  • Theme park
  • Karaoke center

 

 

Outdoor commercial activities such as sales & marketing:

  • Visits to Museum
  • Indoor busking
  • Self-service dobby
  • Recreational fishing activities
  • Filming activities
  • Meetings & workshops [adherence to health protocol & space optimization]

  • Sports team preparation
  • Non-contact sport activities
  • Bowling
  • Badminton
  • Archery
  • Shooting
  • Outdoor group activities
  • Bike riding
  • Motorcycle convoys
 

 

  • Sports competition
  • Game involving large crowd: stadiums, swimming & public swimming pools
  • Sport involving contact: rugby, wrestling, boxing, football, basketball & hockey
  • Domestic tourism

  • Travelling overseas (the country border remained closed)

  • Festivals & religious activities (adherence to SOP)

  • Large number of religious parades
