Additional Economic Stimulus Package – PENJANA
Program Subsidi Upah (PSU)/ Wage Subsidy Program (WSP)
Below are the significant updates for the WSP/ PSU which announced on 5th June 2020:
1. When WSP start effective and when is the last application?
- WSP start effective from 1 April 2020.
- WSP cover for 6 months effective from 1st April 2020 or from the month applied.
- Last day of application of WSP is 30 September 2020.
2. The current employer under WSP needs to reapply for PENJANA – WSP?
- No need to reapply.
3. Important features of WSP:

4. Can the employer apply for those employee who take unpaid leave under Employment Retention Program (ERP) for WSP?
- ERP will be combined and grouped under WSP from 15 June 2020.
- Employer under tourism and prohibited economy activity under PKPP can apply WSP for those employee under ERP.
- Example for tourism industry: Hotel, Aviation, Tourism Agency and others.
5. The employer who withdraw from the WSP before 15 June 2020 qualify to reactivate the original WSP?
- The employer who withdraws from the WSP Programme before 15 June 2020 qualify to reactivate previous application through email: aduansip@perkeso.gov.my
6. If the employer apply the WSP on June, will the wage subsidy be paid starting from April?
- There will be no back payments. The approved employer will receive subsidy according to the amount in Table 1.
7. Does the employer need to submit new application for the subsequent month claim?
- No need. For the subsequent month, employer only need to update changes on the employees listing and business status (if any) before 16th of that month. For normal, the wage subsidy will be automatically paid to the respective employer/company.
- WSP for the next month will be paid based on the updated listing.
- Inaccurate information or variance with information in Portal Assist will be further inquired by SOCSO.
