The Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) hosted the prestigious MIA Conference 2017 on 7 and 8 November 2017 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The conference is one of the most anticipated event of the year for the accounting industry and is MIA’s annual flagship event, offering the best avenue to develop the accountancy profession in Malaysia.
Cheng & Co was among the supporting partners and was represented by its Managing Partner, Professor Dato’ Dr Chua Hock Hoo. In conjunction with the conference, Professor Dato’ Dr Chua was interviewed by Malaysia SME, primarily on what the future holds for accountants in Malaysia. He addressed key issues such as trends to look out for in Malaysia, future skill that accountants need to acquired and the impact of digital transformation.
