BSC Workshop Leaves Lasting Impression On Participants
Approximately 60 participants including the members of Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia (PUMM) and the public went home with a better understanding of the Balanced Scorecard concept.
PUMM had organised the BSC Workshop in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The workshop was themed “LEARN BALANCED SCORECARD FROM MONEYBALL” and was held on 9 August 2017. The importance of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) in managing and planning the growth of a company and achieving long-term success was the key focus point during the workshop.
Measuring actions against real results – Balanced Scorecard
Cheng & Co’s Managing Partner Professor Dato’ Dr Chua Hock Hoo was one of the speaker during the talk. He provided valuable insights and tips on the Balanced Scorecard as a globally proven measure to drive performance.
Participants also had the opportunity to find out the references between the BSC and the movie Moneyball. The movie starring Brad Pitt, turned out to be a blockbuster while the book, authored by Michael Lewis, became a bestseller after its publication to the public.
In a nutshell, the Balanced Scorecard is a strategic management tool to help achieve synergies throughout an organisation. It enables the translation of its vision, mission and strategies into tangible and measurable action plans. It uses data analysis to achieve results such as enhanced performances of employees, increased cost efficiency, and improved client satisfaction to achieve your goals and individual KPIs.
