As part of Cheng & Co’s core transformational strategy towards internationalisation, the firm became a member of TGS Global, one of the world’s largest dynamic accountancy network, last year. Subsequently, the prestigious TGS Global Annual Conference 2016 visited Malaysia in November 2016 with Cheng & Co being the co-organiser. This has contributed immensely towards raising the firm’s profile on the international stage and underlined our vision for the year 2020 – to become the largest home-grown international accounting firm.
Recently, two TGS Global network member firms from abroad visited Cheng & Co and were welcomed by the firm’s Managing Partner Professor Dato’ Dr Chua Hock Hoo and, Chief Operating Officer and Partner Mr Tom Wong. Enlighten Advisory from Thailand was represented by its Managing Partner, Ms Kanjanick Suwinchai, and Qatar’s Fuad Abdul Kareem & Partners was represented by Partner – Assurance Services, Mr Muhanad Shilu.
This is in line with TGS Global’s drive to encourage its members to organise activities such as seminars and talks in countries where firms in its network are based. Sharing sessions provide great opportunities to learn new experiences, understand new cultures and strategies, and possibly even unearth new business opportunities, among others. Cheng & Co held a session with our guests and it turned out to be a fruitful and rewarding one.
Professor Dato’ Dr Chua shared Cheng & Co’s growth story from just three employees back in 1993, to over 300 staff in 15 domestic branches and four international offices, today. He also spoke about the key role played by the Balanced Scorecard system in successfully helping Cheng & Co attain the desired results and achieve its goals, year in and year out and is looking forward to sharing this success story with more members of the TGS Global network.
Subsequently, Ms Kanjanick from Thailand enlightened everyone about her firm’s consulting services especially in system audit, advisory and their approach to helping clients build their businesses in exchange for shares in these organisations. Ms Kanjanick also explained how her firm benefitted from becoming a member of TGS Global and stated the firm’s income growth from 1 million baht to 10 million baht and, is projected to achieve 20 million baht this year.
Cheng & Co looks forward to welcoming more firms from the TGS Global network, and will be planning to visit these firms in their respective countries, soon. On a side note, TGS Global’s official web site www.tgs-global.com now features country sites to link all members of its network.
