The Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) organised the Merger, Acquisition and Affiliation Seminar 2016 on 2 June, 2016.
The Seminar, held at SME Corp, provided the platform for business and firms to explore the merger, acquisition and affiliation option in the face of increasing globalisation and recent legislative changes.
MIA member firms were invited to share their expertise and experience in dealing with merger and acquisition (M&A), and Cheng & Co was represented by Deputy Managing Partner, Mr Tan Wae Leng.
Mr Tan, who has more than 10 years of experience with Chartered Accountant firms and in advisory roles for IPOs, shared Cheng & Co’s experience and best practises in consulting and assisting companies on M&A activities throughout its 23 years of experience in this industry.
Mr Tan spoke on matters such as pre-M&A, during M&A and post- M&A alongside showcasing Cheng & Co’s business model and key elements that the firm looks for in companies to be acquired or their affiliation model suitable for adoption among member firms.
